A two-year-old boy is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Boonah, a rural town southwest of Brisbane.
The accident happened around 4.10pm in Boonah, in the rural Scenic Rim region.
The Courier Mail reports the Queensland Ambulance Service critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit responded to the scene.
A rescue helicopter was also originally tasked to the scene, however has been put on hold due to bad weather.
Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed the accident and said the boy was taken to Boonah Hospital in a critical condition with a head injury.
The state’s forensic crash unit has been advised of the accident and Queensland Police remain on the scene.
