Police have arrested and charged a teenage girl with murder after a boy, 16, was stabbed to death in Far North Queensland.
A 16-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with the stabbing murder of a teenage boy in remote Queensland Gulf Country.
Police on Tuesday were called to a midday altercation between two 16-year-olds at a private residence in Doomadgee – more than five hours north of Mount Isa – where a girl had allegedly stabbed a boy who was known to her.
The boy died at the scene and the girl was arrested.
Mount Isa District Child Protection and Investigation Unit and Criminal Investigation Branch have since charged the girl with murder.
She has been denied bail and will appear in Doomadgee Children’s Court.
