A ‘prolonged’ rescue attempt is underway after a man fell 50m down a cliff in a Gold Coast national park.
Emergency services are slowly working their way to a man who fell 50m down a cliff at a popular spot in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed rescuers were on scene at Natural Bridge in the Springbrook National Park following the man’s fall just before 10am on Thursday.
They are yet to reach the man, and have not been able to assess his condition, but they say he is responsive.
“It looks like it is going to be a prolonged rescue,” a spokeswoman said.
The park is right near the border of Queensland and NSW. Units were sent to Nerang Murwillumbah Rd.
