A former elite swimming coach accused of indecently dealing with children in the 1980s will remain in custody on remand.
A former elite swimming coach charged with historical child abuse offences will remain behind bars for at least another two months, when he is next due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court.
Legal aid lawyers on Monday did not apply for bail on behalf of John Reginald Wright, 78, and arranged for his matter to be held over for mention until January 20.
He will remain in custody.
Police allege Mr Wright, who trained elite swimmers across Australia and overseas for decades, indecently dealt with children on multiple occasions between 1980 and 1986 in the Brisbane and Rockhampton areas.
Mr Wright was arrested in Western Australia last month following a police investigation into the alleged abuse.
He is charged with nine counts of indecent treatment of boys under the age of 17 and one count of common assault.
