A woman has shared her horror online after discovering a skin-crawling wasp colony on her window.
A local Lismore woman has opened up about her terrifying wasp infestation online, begging for help from her neighbours to deal with the skin-crawling situation.
Posting on the Lismore Information Exchange Facebook group, the woman called out for advice on how to rid her windowsills of the colony of wasps.
“How do I get rid of wasps ?” she wrote.
Lismore locals came to Ms Shield’s aid, offering a range of unconventional advice on how to deal with the situation.
“Deodorant and lighter usually does the trick,” wrote one poster.
“Wait till dark, get a sheet of news paper, roll it up nice and long and burn them,” wrote another.
But Ms Shields said the wasp colony was to high up for her to burn them.
“They‘re on a second-floor window that I can’t reach,” she said.
One Lismore Information Exchange member was quick to call Ms Shields out following this revelation, telling her to leave the wasps alone.
“If they are on a second-floor window & not worrying anyone hanging around on the window ledge — why would you kill them??” the poster said.
